Dr Marga Gual Soler is a Spanish thought leader and educator working at the intersection of science, technology and global affairs. For more than 15 years, she has helped shape national and international science diplomacy strategies and build capacities and partnerships across academia, government and international organisations.
She is Executive Director of Capacity & Leadership at the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA) and Programme Director of the Geneva Science Diplomacy Week, where she develops programmes to equip leaders to anticipate and navigate emerging developments in science and technology. Previously, she spent seven years at the AAAS Center for Science Diplomacy, where she developed the first global science diplomacy curriculum and contributed to rebuilding scientific ties between the United States and Cuba.
Marga holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Queensland, Australia. In 2019, she participated in the largest-ever women in science expedition to Antarctica, and in 2020 was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
